MISSION STATEMENT
The Talcott Free Library District provides current materials in a variety
of formats, preserves local history, supports educational endeavors, and
supplies community information.

LIBRARY CARDS
**Check current tax bill to determine residential status**
Residential: (Talcott Free Library listed on tax bill)
All residents and property owners of Rockton Township are eligible for a library card.
Issued for 3 years
No charge
Proof of residency
Children 6 - 18 years - Parents/Guardian must sign registration card
Non Residential: (No regional library listed on tax bill)
A non-resident library card may be purchased at the "closest public library in the school district in which non-resident has his or her principle residence."
Yearly fee
Issued for 1 year
Reciprocal Borrower:
Any person having a valid library card from an offline library (library not on computer).
Use home library card; same expiration date
Issued a Northern Illinois System barcode
No charge
Any valid library card from any public library in Illinois will be honored pending verification at the home library.

ITEM LIMIT
Most items have no limit, except - CD's (10) and Video/DVD's (10) per library card
CHARGES
Overdues: All items = $.10 per item per day
Video/DVD's and ILL's = $.50 per item per day
(Incurred amount of $5.00 or more on patron record will block patron from further transactions.)
Video/DVD = $.25 rental fee
Copier and printer charge = $.10 to $.50 per sheet
PLACING HOLDS/RENEWALS
Placing a hold and/or renewing an item can be done by phone, at the library, or on your home computer.
BOARD MEETINGS
Library Board meetings are the first Monday of every month at 7:00pm. Meetings are open to the public and are held in the Library programming room.
The agenda and minutes of the Library Board meetings are available at the library.

The Talcott Free Library Friends Group welcomes new members. Please consider volunteering your time for this very worthwhile library sponsor. Meetings are usually held one evening a month and involve activities which help Talcott Free Library. If you are interested in learning more about the group, please ask a staff member to add your name to the postcard list which announces meeting dates and times. |
