Lecture Series

This month, we recognize Pride Month ( LGBTQIA+) by exploring it’s origins, evolution and its enduring significance. The lecture will be led by Lien Vu ( she/her). Cultural Excellence and Belonging Specialist and Adjunct Anthropology Instructor at Rock Valley College, followed by a Q&A session.

About the Presenter:

At Rock Valley College, Lien Vu focuses on creating inclusive learning environments and leading campus-wide initiatives that foster community and belonging. She advises the Sexuality & Gender Equality ( SAGE) student club & coordinates RVC’s Safe Zone Training program.

Beyond the college, Lien serves as Board President of the LIAM Foundation, working to expand LGBTQ+ resources and support throughout the region. She is honored to be selected as one of the grand marshals for the 2026 Rockford Area Pride Parade.

In her spare time, Lien trains for and competes in powerlifting competitions & enjoys relaxing at home with her wife, two dogs, and two cats.
