This month we turn our attention to Hispanic Heritage Month, exploring its origins, evolution, and continued significance. The lecture will be presented by Alexis Baldacci, Assistant Professor of History at Rockford University. A Q&A session will follow the presentations.

About the Presenter: Alexis Baldacci earned a PhD in Latin American History from the University of Florida in 2018. Her research and teaching focus on the questions of citizenship, power, gender, and equality in modern Latin America and beyond. Her current project, I, the Revolution: Austerity, Identity, and Desire in Cuba, 1971-1991), analyzes consumer & material cultures to explore the nature of political participation in Cuba and the popular legitimacy of the revolutionary project.
